En les darreres d\u00e8cades la disminuci\u00f3 de la qualitat de l\u2019esperma s\u2019ha centrat especialment als pa\u00efsos desenvolupats i tot apunta a qu\u00e8 els factors ambientals i d\u2019estil de vida en tenen un paper determinant. Amb l\u2019objectiu d\u2019identificar alguns dels principals factors de risc de la baixa qualitat de l\u2019esperma, un equip de recerca liderat per la Universitat Rovira i Virgili amb la participaci\u00f3 de l\u2019Institut d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Sanit\u00e0ria Pere Virgili (IISPV) i el CIBEROBN ha trobat una possible relaci\u00f3 entre el consum d\u2019aliments ultraprocessats i la qualitat del semen.<\/p>\n<p>Els resultats d\u2019aquesta recerca s\u2019emmarquen dins de l\u2019estudi Led-fertyl, que ha avaluat 200 homes sans a Catalunya. Durant diverses setmanes van haver de respondre q\u00fcestionaris i entrevistes que van permetre identificar el seu perfil sociodemogr\u00e0fic, h\u00e0bits alimentaris, estil de vida i antecedents m\u00e8dics. Tamb\u00e9 se\u2019ls van recollir i analitzar <strong>mostres biol\u00f2giques de sang, orina i semen i es van classificar en tres categories en funci\u00f3 del seu consum d\u2019aliments ultraprocessats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Els resultats van mostrar que <strong>els homes que consumien al voltant d\u2019un 30% de la ingesta energ\u00e8tica di\u00e0ria en forma d\u2019aliments ultraprocessats tenien m\u00e9s risc de tenir els par\u00e0metres de qualitat esperm\u00e0tica alterats<\/strong>. Aquests par\u00e0metres s\u00f3n els que defineix l\u2019Organitzaci\u00f3 Mundial de la Salut i tenen a veure amb el recompte del nombre total d\u2019espermatozous, la seva motilitat i la concentraci\u00f3 en semen.<\/p>\n<p>Durant l\u2019estudi tamb\u00e9 es va observar que l<strong>a substituci\u00f3 del consum d\u2019aliments ultraprocessats per d\u2019altres poc o gens processats podria tenir un efecte benefici\u00f3s\u00a0<\/strong>sobre aquests par\u00e0metres de qualitat de l\u2019esperma.<\/p>\n<p>Aquests resultats s\u00f3n un punt de partida per entendre els mecanisme que es pot amagar darrere del consum d\u2019aquests tipus d\u2019aliments. Trobar-lo ajudar\u00e0 al desenvolupament de futurs programes preventius o d\u2019intervenci\u00f3 enfocats a combatre els problemes de fertilitat derivats de la baixa qualitat de l\u2019esperma. Ara, doncs, cal continuar la recerca amb altres poblacions diferents per confirmar els resultats que s\u2019han obtingut amb aquest estudi.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019esquerra a dreta, Albert Salas, Nancy Babio, Cristina Valle i Jordi Salas-Salvad\u00f3, l\u2019equip investigador que ha participat en l\u2019estudi.<br \/>\nFactors com la<strong>\u00a0contaminaci\u00f3 ambiental, el consum de drogues o alcohol, el tabaquisme, l\u2019exposici\u00f3 a possibles subst\u00e0ncies qu\u00edmiques que alteren el sistema endocr\u00ed a trav\u00e9s de la dieta o el medi ambient, l\u2019estr\u00e8s i l\u2019alimentaci\u00f3 no saludable<\/strong>\u00a0semblen estar implicats en l\u2019origen de la infertilitat masculina. Tenint en compte que tots aquests factors de risc es poden modificar, disminuir-ne la seva exposici\u00f3 pot ser una mesura apropiada de prevenci\u00f3 d\u2019aquests problemes.<\/p>\n<p>La recerca, que s\u2019ha publicat a la revista cient\u00edfica <em>Human Reproduction Open<\/em>, ha estat liderada per\u00a0<strong>Cristina Valle Hita<\/strong>, investigadora predoctoral a la Unitat de Nutrici\u00f3 Humana de la URV juntament amb la investigadora del Departament de Bioqu\u00edmica i Biotecnologia<strong>\u00a0Nancy Babio<\/strong>, l\u2019investigador del Departament de Ci\u00e8ncies M\u00e8diques B\u00e0siques,\u00a0<strong>Albert Salas-Huetos<\/strong>\u00a0i\u00a0<strong>Jordi Salas-Salvad\u00f3<\/strong>, catedr\u00e0tic de la URV i director del grup de recerca.
