Es tracta d&#8217;un complement molt usat tant en el menjar com en la beguda. La hist\u00f2ria de Tabasco es remunta a l&#8217;any 1868, quan Edmund McIlhenny va recollir el seu primer cultiu de xiles tabasco, del qual va crear una salsa coenta per potenciar el sabor del menjar de la seva fam\u00edlia i amics.<\/p>\n<p>Sense saber-ho, la creaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquesta salsa senzilla va canviar per sempre la manera de menjar al m\u00f3n. Avui, 150 anys despr\u00e9s, els tres mateixos ingredients que va fer servir Edmund McIlhenny per fer la salsa Tabasco, xili tabasco, sal i vinagre, s\u00f3n envellits i embotellats per la fam\u00edlia d&#8217;Edmund aAvery Island, amb un proc\u00e9s que es mant\u00e9 pr\u00e0cticament igual que l&#8217;original.<\/p>\n<p>Aquesta salsa coenta es pot trobar a bars petits fins a restaurants d&#8217;alta cuina i, tamb\u00e9, en els rebosts de les cases particulars d&#8217;arreu del m\u00f3n. Anthony A. Simmons, president i director d&#8217;operacions de McIlhenny Company i membre de la cinquena generaci\u00f3 de la fam\u00edlia McIlhenny afirma que &#8222;la meva fam\u00edlia se sent honorada per tot l&#8217;afecte que se li ha donat a la salsa Tabasco&#8230; no s\u00e9 si el meu rebesavi s&#8217;hauria imaginat mai que una salsa que va crear al pati de ca seva es convertiria en una categoria d&#8217;aliments totalment nova.
