Els dos organismes han fet ex\u00e0mens independents per\u00f2 complementaris per avaluar la possible perillositat carcin\u00f2gena i altres riscos per a la salut associats al consum d&#8217;aspartam.<\/p>\n<p>Arran dels estudis, l&#8217;IARC ha classificat l&#8217;aspartam com a possiblement carcinogen per als \u00e9ssers humans (Grup 2B de l&#8217;IARC), despr\u00e9s d&#8217;establir que hi ha &#8222;evid\u00e8ncia limitada&#8220; sobre la seva carcinogenicitat en els \u00e9ssers humans, i el JECFA ha reafirmat que la ingesta di\u00e0ria admissible d&#8217;aquest producte \u00e9s de 40 mg\/kg.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;aspartam \u00e9s un\u00a0<strong>edulcorant artificial\u00a0<\/strong>(d&#8217;origen qu\u00edmic) que \u00e9s devers 200 vegades m\u00e9s dol\u00e7 que el sucre. \u00c9s conegut tamb\u00e9 com<strong>\u00a0E 951<\/strong>. S&#8217;empra \u00e0mpliament en diferents aliments i begudes des de la d\u00e8cada de 1980, com ara en\u00a0<strong>refrescos<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>begudes diet\u00e8tiques<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>xiclets<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>gelatina<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>gelats<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>productes lactis\u00a0<\/strong>com el iogurt,\u00a0<strong>cereals d&#8217;esmorzar<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>dentifrici\u00a0<\/strong>i\u00a0<strong>medicaments\u00a0<\/strong>com pastilles per a la tossina i vitamines mastegables.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;IARC ha classificat l&#8217;aspartam com a possiblement carcinogen per als \u00e9ssers humans (Grup 2B) a partir d&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia limitada per al c\u00e0ncer en els \u00e9ssers humans (en concret, per al carcinoma hepatocel\u00b7lular, un tipus de c\u00e0ncer de fetge). Tamb\u00e9 ha observat evid\u00e8ncia limitada per al c\u00e0ncer en animals d&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 i evid\u00e8ncia limitada relacionada amb els possibles mecanismes que provoquen c\u00e0ncer.<\/p>\n<p>El JECFA va concloure que les dades avaluades indicaven que <strong>no hi havia cap ra\u00f3 suficient per canviar la ingesta di\u00e0ria admissible<\/strong>\u00a0(IDA) pr\u00e8viament establerta de 0 a 40 mg\/kg de pes corporal per a l&#8217;aspartam. Per exemple, amb una llauna de refresc diet\u00e8tic que contingui 200 o 300 mg d&#8217;aspartam, un adult que pesa 70 kg necessitaria consumir m\u00e9s de 9-14 llaunes al dia per excedir la ingesta di\u00e0ria admissible si no es consumeixen altres aliments.<\/p>\n<p>La <strong>determinaci\u00f3 de la perillositat per\u00a0l&#8217;IARC \u00e9s el primer pas fonamental per comprendre la carcinogenicitat d&#8217;un agent en establir-se les propietats espec\u00edfiques i el potencial per causar dany, \u00e9s a dir, c\u00e0ncer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Les classificacions de\u00a0l&#8217;IARC reflecteixen\u00a0<strong>la fermesa de l&#8217;evid\u00e8ncia cient\u00edfica sobre la possibilitat que un agent determinat causi c\u00e0ncer en els \u00e9ssers humans, per\u00f2 no reflecteixen el risc de patir c\u00e0ncer a un nivell d\u201fexposici\u00f3 determina<\/strong>t. En l&#8217;avaluaci\u00f3 de la perillositat per la IARC es tenen en compte tots els tipus d&#8217;exposici\u00f3 (per exemple, a l&#8217;alimentaci\u00f3 oa la feina).
