Una tasca que continua el seu fill Tomeu Torrens amb el Celler Can Amer, un dels m\u00e9s destacats de Mallorca.<\/p>\n<p>La traject\u00f2ria de Josep Torrens Vall\u00e8s, amb m\u00e9s de 60 anys dedicats al sector, ha estat valorada amb diversos guardons com\u00a0la Placa de Bronze al M\u00e8rit Tur\u00edstic, atorgada pel Ministeri de Turisme el 1982; i la Medalla Ramon Llull del Govern de les Illes Balears l&#8217;any 2007. Tamb\u00e9 cal comentar que l\u2019any 1992, el Ministeri de Turisme va seleccionar el celler Can Amer per representar la cuina de les Illes Balears al pavell\u00f3 d\u2019Espanya a l\u2019Expo de Sevilla.<\/p>\n<p>Tamb\u00e9 cal remarcar que gr\u00e0cies a ell es va recuperar la varietat de vinya aut\u00f2ctona Gorgollassa, que tenia sembrades a la seva finca de s&#8217;Olivaret de Selva. El proc\u00e9s de recuperaci\u00f3 va comen\u00e7ar l&#8217;any 1997 amb 4 ceps que va cedir de la seva vinya i va finalitzar l&#8217;any 2011, quan el govern en va autoritzar l&#8217;\u00fas per fer-ne vi.<\/p>\n<p>Nacut a Binissalem l&#8217;any 1930, Josep Torrens va comen\u00e7ar en el m\u00f3n de la restauraci\u00f3 de jove. Amb 16 anys, es posa a treballar amb el seu oncle al celler Sa Travessa,d&#8217;Inca. L&#8217;any 1966, el seu oncle li cedeix la direcci\u00f3 del celler i Torrens li d\u00f3na un nou enfocament per adaptar-lo a les noves exig\u00e8ncies del boom tur\u00edstic. El 1971, amb l\u2019ajuda de la seva esposa, amplia el negoci i passen a regentar tamb\u00e9 el celler de Can Amer.
