A m\u00e9s ajuden al control metab\u00f2lic, perqu\u00e8 afavoreixen la reducci\u00f3 de pes i greix corporal, disminueixen els nivells de triglic\u00e8rids i la concentraci\u00f3 de glucosa a la sang.<\/p>\n<p>Guillermo Manuel Ceballos Reyes, titular de la investigaci\u00f3 que es duu a terme a l&#8217;Escola Superior de Medicina (ESM), va referir que les malalties cardiovasculars s\u00f3n la primera causa de mort a M\u00e8xic, per aix\u00f2 adquireixen rellev\u00e0ncia els estudis enfocats a l&#8217;aprofitament de subst\u00e0ncies actives provinents de recursos naturals que ajudin a prevenir i controlar aquests patiments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Les subst\u00e0ncies provinents del cacau protegeixen contra segons infarts i milloren la funci\u00f3 endotelial, la qual cosa ajuda a que els processos patol\u00f2gics disminueixin en quantitat i extensi\u00f3, aix\u00f2 ajuda a que no es reinfarten els animals&#8221;, ha explicat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Estudi en pacients, properament<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El cient\u00edfic polit\u00e8cnic va esmentar que la realitzaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquests estudis en pacients est\u00e0 en proc\u00e9s i va aclarir que l&#8217;administraci\u00f3 de les subst\u00e0ncies extretes del cacau no ser\u00e0 substitut de cap tractament actual, sin\u00f3 que complementar\u00e0 la terap\u00e8utica establerta pels metges tractants.<\/p>\n<p>En el projecte col\u00b7laboren, Alicia Ortiz Moreno, Mar\u00eda Elena S\u00e1nchez Pardo i Leticia Gardu\u00f1o Siciliano, investigadores de l&#8217;Escola Nacional de Ci\u00e8ncies Biol\u00f2giques (ENCB), a m\u00e9s de Nayelli Najera Garc\u00eda, Eduardo Meaney Mendiolea de l&#8217;ESM, aix\u00ed com metges de l&#8217;Hospital Ju\u00e1rez de M\u00e8xic, cient\u00edfics de la Universitat de San Diego, a Calif\u00f2rnia, Estats Units, i especialistes membres de diverses associacions de cardiologia.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;expert en Fisiopatologia Cardiovascular va explicar que tot i que els factors hereditaris influeixen en el desenvolupament de malalties cardiovasculars, agents modificables com l&#8217;obesitat s\u00f3n els seus principals detonadors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;En la nostra societat el sobrep\u00e8s i l&#8217;obesitat s\u00f3n altament prevalents i tots dos s&#8217;associen directament amb hipertensi\u00f3 arterial, diabetis mellitus tipus 2, infarts del miocardi i esdeveniments vasculars cerebrals. Per aix\u00f2 la import\u00e0ncia d&#8217;oferir alternatives que previnguin i ajudin a tractar-les &#8220;, ha apuntat.<\/p>\n<p>Despr\u00e9s de diversos estudis el grup d&#8217;especialistes va provar en animals de laboratori que les subst\u00e0ncies obtingudes del cacau acceleren la reparaci\u00f3 del teixit endotelial -que revesteix la paret interna dels vasos sanguinis i del cor-, el qual pateix danys durant un infart.<\/p>\n<p>En altres animals van verificar que els compostos protegeixen contra el dany indu\u00eft per la isqu\u00e8mia coron\u00e0ria, disminueixen la lesi\u00f3 causada pel proc\u00e9s i afavoreixen que el cor es recuperi m\u00e9s aviat.<\/p>\n<p>A part de les subst\u00e0ncies que s&#8217;extreuen de l&#8217;cacau, els cient\u00edfics tamb\u00e9 aprofiten integralment el vegetal per elaborar productes amb propietats terap\u00e8utiques, els efectes ben\u00e8fics s&#8217;han comprovat en pacients de l&#8217;Hospital Ju\u00e1rez de M\u00e8xic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A causa dels resultats obtinguts i amb el prop\u00f2sit d&#8217;auxiliar a un major nombre de persones, planegem patentar els nostres productes i a mitj\u00e0 termini a crear una microempresa per comercialitzar-los, o fer alguna transfer\u00e8ncia tecnol\u00f2gica&#8221;, ha assenyalat.<\/p>\n<p>Com a producte d&#8217;aquestes investigacions, Ceballos Reis compta amb m\u00e9s de 30 articles cient\u00edfics publicats en revistes de prestigi internacional. A m\u00e9s, com a producte de les seves investigacions, al llarg de 10 anys s&#8217;han generat una dotzena de tesis de postgrau i estan en proc\u00e9s 10 m\u00e9s.
